Orange Knowledge Workshop: Application of Netherlands Technologies in Development of Sustainable Agriculture in Vietnam
On April 18, 19, 20, 2022, at Vietnam University of Agriculture (VNUA) – Trau Quy, Gia Lam, Ha Noi., within the context of the Orange Knowledge Programme, financed by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nuffic Neso Vietnam in collaboration with VNUA, has organized the Orange Knowledge Workshop: “Application of Netherlands Technologies in Development of Sustainable Agriculture in Vietnam”.
Context of the event: Vietnam is in the process of transitioning to “gaining more for less input” agriculture and is strongly committed to green agriculture. To do this, Vietnam needs to apply modern and sustainable technologies. The Netherlands is a pioneer in this field.
The Netherlands has trained high-quality human resources in the agriculture field for Vietnam including alumni from BSc, MSc, Ph.D. programs; through cooperation projects between institutes, universities, and enterprises of the two sides of technology, knowledge is transferred, and many human resources are trained.
Our goals:
Through this workshop, we aim to transfer knowledge and technology in sustainable agriculture to partners and the alumni of the Netherlands Alumni Network and of the Orange Knowledge Programme. We would also like to enable a network environment for alumni to connect with companies and institutes of the sector and strengthen ties between alumni in Vietnam.

Started with the speech of the Dutch Embassy: Netherlands – Vietnam cooperation in agriculture: Education, technology and policy – by Mr. Willem Schoustra – Agriculture Counselor, Dutch Embassy in Hanoi.
Continued by the speech of Alumni – Ms. Mai Thanh Tu – Consultant of the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) Former Dutch student. – PhD student at ISS – University of Rotterdam. And the speech of the Lentiz Vocational Training – Mr. Marc de Ruiter.
The participants visited the farming model applying 4.0 technology in honey beekeeping, led by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Pham Hong Thai – Director of Research Center for Tropical Bees and Beekeeping Research Center for Tropical Bees and Beekeeping, the model of high-tech greenhouse of the OKP project, led by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Viet Long and the research room at Veterinary Teaching Hospital , led by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Lai Thi Lan Huong – Head of Personnel Management Office – Alumni of Wageningen University and Research Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
