Implementing the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between NVHBP and Quang Binh
On May 20 and 21, 2025, representatives of the Netherlands-Vietnam Horti Business Platform (NVHBP) visited several typical agricultural farms in Quang Binh and attended the webinar organized by the Department of Finance in coordination with the Vietnamese Embassy in the Netherlands and NVHBP to implement the contents of the MoU on cooperation in horticulture signed between the Department of Planning and Investment of Quang Binh and NVHBP in the Netherlands in June 2024.
Participating in the meeting were leaders and staff of the Center for Public Financial Services and Investment Promotion, the Department of Finance, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Quang Binh, representatives of the Cooperatives of An Ninh, Tuan Linh, Quang Ninh, Thanh Duc, Nang Quang Binh, An Nong, the Association of Agricultural, Forestry and Fishery Production & Export, etc., and enterprises operating in the field of horticultre.
On the Dutch side, there were representatives of the Westland Municipality – Mr. Ivo Meijer, in charge of external and international affairs, Mr. Henk Van Eijk – Chairman, Mr. Fokke Fracht, Treasurer, Ms. Mai Hong – Vietnam Coordinator and NVHBP’s members: Thien Dieu, Netafim- Khang Thinh, Pho Hien Machinery …
At the meeting, Mr. Le Anh Tuan – Deputy Director of the Department of Finance introduced an overview of the potential and advantages of Quang Binh agriculture in the period of 2021 – 2030, mentioning that the developing high-tech agriculture towards the production of goods with high added value is considered one of the four priority pillars of economic development of the province.
The leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment together with the participants proposed a number of cooperation contents in areas such as: application of high technology in agriculture, development of organic agricultural products, training and capacity building, digital transformation in agricultural management, promotion of e-commerce, etc.
After exchanging and discussing, Mr. Henk Van Eijk – Chairman and members highly appreciated the cooperation proposals and requested Quang Binh to develop and send specific projects for the parties to implement the next steps as soon as possible.
