Thai Binh Agri College celebrates the move from growing rice to flowers, ornamental plants and fruit

On 10th Jan 2020, Thai Binh Agri College organised a ceremony on the ocassion of getting the approval to change 2.3 ha land from growing rice into growing flowers, ornamental plants and young fruit plants. The meeting was attended by leaders from Thai Binh People’s Committee. There are already some tulip, lily from Holland studied and grown by staff and students of the College. This is the 1st step to proceed the project to study and apply new varieties of flowers, young fruit plants and ornamental in their College.

Annual event Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park

The annual event was hold at Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park to show the Gratefulness to investors, partners and workers in the Industrial Park from December 27 to 29.

NVCC event: meeting the Ambassador, The Hague

NVHBP presents itself to Minister Cuong and the business delegation

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam H.E. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Cuong is paying a working visit to the Netherlands from 9 to 11 December 2019. The visit of Minister Cuong, accompanied by the ministerial, provincial and business delegation, aims to further develop sustainable and inclusive agriculture and mutual business opportunities under the framework of the Vietnam – the Netherlands Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA) in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security.

On Tuesday December 11, the Minister and its delegation visited World Horti Center where they were received by Mr Bouke Arends, the Mayor of Municipality Westland and Mr. Joep Hendricks, Director World Horti Center. During this visit an explanation was given about the role of the World Horti Center and the unique position of the Westland Municipality in the global horticulture sector. In addition, Henk van Eijk (Chairman NVHBP) gave a presentation about the Netherlands Vietnam Horti Businsess Platform, in which Dutch and Vietnamese companies work together to contribute to the further development of the Vietnamese horticulture and floriculture sector. Next to that, two students of Lentiz | MBO Westland share their experiences about their horticulture related internship in Vietnam.

Minister Cuong and the delegation were very enthusiastic about the developments made by NVHBP after the signing of the MoU with the Crop Production Department of MARD during the trade mission to Vietnam led by Prime Minister Rutte in April.

Students of Thai Binh’s Agri College learn about the Dutch Flower sector

On Tuesday December 10, a presentation about the Dutch Flower Sector was given by Mr. Paul Onings of Onings Holland – Gold member of NVHBP and a renowned exporter of bulbs and tubers – to the students of Thai Binh’s Agri College. Thai Binh Agri College – Silver member of NVHBP- aims to cooperate with NVHBP in order to learn its students about the next level of Vietnam’s horticultural sector which applies efficient and effective methods and techniques throughout the entire supply chain of fresh cut flowers, plants, vegetables and fruit, resulting in high quality, sustainable, healthy and safe horticultural produce.

Annual Conference Meeting of Flowers and Ornamental Plants Hanoi

Tuesday November 10, NVHBP was present  at the Annual Conference Meeting of Flowers and Ornamental Plants in Hanoi organised by the Fruit and Vegetable Research Institute (FAVRI), Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) and the Association of Ornamental Plants and Pets of Vietnam. A speech about our initiative was given by Mr. Paul Onings of Onings Holland – Gold member of NVHBP and a renowned exporter of bulbs and tubers.

Great interest and enthusiasm for VN-Dutch cooperation in high-tech horticulture

Vietnamese companies, institutes and governmental organisations were in large numbers present at the seminars throughout Vietnam organised by the Netherlands Vietnam Horti Business Platform (NVHBP). Horticulture is for both countries an important sector. Although the Netherlands is a small, densely populated country, it is the 2nd largest exporter of agricultural products while having the lowest environmental impact per kg of product of all countries in the world. At the same time, the Vietnamese horticulture market shows strong growth as well as opportunities to bring the sector to a next level.

On Monday November 11th, a seminar for potential members in Thai Binh province was organised in cooperation with People’s Committee of Thai Binh. Besides, NVHBP had a booth at the Northern Delta International Agriculture Fair 2019 in Thai Binh from 5 November to 11 November. Thai Binh Agriculture College signed the silver membership as this College sees the benefit of being member of the platform and aims to cooperate in green education. Later that day, a seminar was organised in Hai Phong in cooperation with Haiphong Technology & Equipment Transfer and Exchange (HATEX).

On Tuesday November 12th, potential members were invited by AgriTrade to join the seminar in Hanoi. Later that day, the current members were updated during a lunch at the Fruit and Vegetable Research institute (FAVRI); companies and institutes active in the horticultural sector in Vinh Phuc province attended the seminar organised in cooperation with People’s committee of Vinh Phuc.

On Wednesday November 13th, NVHBP was present at Vietnam Food Expo 2019 in Ho Chi Minh City which was co-organised by one of its supporting partners Vietrade. Fokke Kracht, board member of NVHBP, was one of the speakers during the Panel Discussion of the Food Forum with the topic “To meet the Netherlands and EU standards and opportunities in these  markets for Vietnam’s food and agricultural products exporters”. In the afternoon the NVHBP team meet several interested companies during the matchmaking session. Moreover, part of the team visited the factory of Lavifood in Tay Ninh province (Tanifood).

On Thursday November 14th, a large group of interested companies and organisations gathered at the Saigon Innovation hub for the seminar organised in cooperation with Agricultural High-Tech Park (AHTP) in Ho Chi Minh City. The seminar were continued with a visit to AHTP.

VNUA, Hachi and Pho Hien Machinery @ VN Growtech 201

Members of the Netherlands Vietnam Horti Business Platform, including Vietnam National University of Agriculture (VNUA), Hachi and Pho Hien Machinery, were present at Vietnam Growtech 2019.

The International Exhibition on Machineries and Technologies of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishery (Vietnam Growtech 2019) will take place at the Hanoi International Exhibition Center (ICE) between October 31 and November 2

The exhibition is organised by National Agency for Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialisation Development (NATEC), Processing and Market Development Authority (AgroTrade) and Adpex Joint Stock Company.

With 250 booths, the Vietnam Growtech 2019 continues to be a reliable place to display more than 5,000 tech products from more than 20 countries including Holland, France, New Zealand, Italy, Chile and Spain.

The two main goals are introducing the latest and most advanced technology and equipment and transferring technology, while also connecting foreign and domestic enterprises.

Within the framework of the exhibition, there will be trade connection activities between participants and visitors.

Businesses will be also received practical advice from experts to establish intellectual property rights and investment co-operation.
